Anna Kajtár joined the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir as Executive Director in 2019. Raised in a musical family, Anna has always felt most at home in the world of music, and feels a deep need to contribute to the cultural fabric of the city. Throughout her almost 20-year career in arts management, she has helped forge paths that help artists connect with their audiences through her work at The Glenn Gould School, The Art of Time Ensemble, Citadel + Compagnie, and Groundling Theatre Company.
As each family Christmas dinner tends to have more languages than dishes around the table, a degree in International Relations was not a far stretch. After graduating from Glendon College at York University, Anna went on to post-graduate training at Humber College, which was a stepping stone to the world she now inhabits and loves.
Faced with the challenge of COVID-19, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir continues to find ways to make music, including full-length, fully produced online concerts. Anna is proud to be part of a team that bravely faces adversity and continues to enrich people’s lives with music.
