Toronto Mendelssohn Choir announces five conductors selected to participate in the 2015 Choral Conductors’ Symposium
2014-15 Season
Five conductors from across North America have been selected to participate in the TMC’s fifth annual Choral Conductors’ Symposium (Jan 27-31, 2015), led by conductor and artistic director Noel Edison. Conductors will work with Noel and with the Elora Festival Singers and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir on a variety of choral music for chamber and large-scale ensembles, including works by composers from Gabrieli, Bach, and Mozart to Rutter, Chilcott and Whitacre.
The Symposium concludes with a free community concert at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church on Saturday, January 31, at 3 pm (doors open at 2:15 pm). The concert will also be webcast live.

2014-15 Season
Toronto, 1894: the last horse-drawn streetcar made its run in Toronto; Massey Hall was built; and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir was founded, presenting its
first concert in 1895. Throughout its 120-year history, and under the leadership of seven renowned conductors, the Choir has been acclaimed for its stunning performances of major choral repertoire and for its important role in the life of choral music in Canada.

Toronto Mendelssohn Choir announces five conductors selected to participate in the 4th Annual Choral Conductors’ Symposium in January 2014
2013-14 Season
The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir’s annual Choral Conductors’ Symposium brings together five emerging conductors for a week of intense master classes and workshops with acclaimed conductor Noel Edison. During the week of January 28 – February 1, 2014 the conductors, selected through a juried application process, have the rare opportunity to conduct both the chamber-sized Elora Festival Singers and the large-scale Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. The Symposium concludes with a free public concert on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 3 pm at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church in Toronto.

Caron Daley named as Toronto Mendelssohn Choir Associate Conductor
2013-14 Season
Nova Scotia-born conductor Caron Daley has been appointed as the Associate Conductor of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, effective September 2013. The TMC created the position of Associate Conductor in 2011 to provide talented choral conductors who are early in their career with coaching, training and mentoring, while also adding to the TMC’s artistic team. The Associate Conductor works with the Choir under the guidance of Artistic Director Noel Edison, directing TMC ensembles in rehearsals and select performances. Caron Daley will be the second conductor to hold this two-year position.

Drama, Artistry, Inspiration: the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir 2013/14 season
2013-14 Season
The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, under Artistic Director Noel Edison, has created an exciting 2013/14 season. The season, the TMC’s 120 th season, includes a celebration of Benjamin Britten’s centenary with a performance of two rarely-performed cantatas, a guest appearance by tenor superstar Ben Heppner at Festival of Carols, and Bach’s Mass in B minor at Koerner Hall. The TMC will also perform four concerts with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
